My Journey into Trauma Therapy

My journey into this work began with training as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist at The Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training School in the UK. This training gave me a deep understanding of the neuroscience of how the brain and nervous system work, and how we can use a calm, future‑focused approach to reduce anxiety, ease stress, and create meaningful positive change in everyday life.

I first established my hypnotherapy practice in Midhurst, West Sussex, where I saw just how effective this gentle, solution‑focused methodology could be for clients struggling with anxiety, low confidence, and feeling stuck in old patterns. Over time, I began to offer online hypnotherapy sessions, working with clients from different parts of the UK who wanted a safe and supportive space to change how they think, feel, and respond.

I am a trauma‑informed hypnotherapist based in Felixstowe, Suffolk, offering in‑person and online sessions across the UK to help people release trauma, regulate the nervous system, and reconnect with their bodies.

Working With Deeper Trauma and Long‑Standing Patterns

As my experience grew, I was increasingly drawn to working with deeper trauma, long‑standing limiting beliefs, and patterns that seemed to repeat no matter how hard someone tried to change them. Many of the people I worked with had already tried traditional talking therapies, yet felt there was still something unresolved at a deeper level.

I felt called to expand my skills beyond standard hypnotherapy and talk‑based approaches. This led me into further training in trauma release, resolving stuck emotional states, and shifting ingrained beliefs with James Banfield. I went on to complete specialist training in regression therapy with Steve Burgess, followed by advanced regression techniques. Through this continued learning and hands‑on client work, I witnessed profound transformations — long‑held emotional blocks softening, symptoms easing, and clients beginning to feel safer in their bodies and lives again.

A Turning Point: Cancer, Grief and a Deeper Understanding of Health

A significant turning point came when my father was diagnosed with cancer. During this time, I immersed myself in research and connected with cancer specialists, looking for every possible way to support him — physically, emotionally, and energetically.

This period profoundly expanded my understanding of health and wellbeing. It shifted my perspective beyond mindset alone, into the deeper connection between our biology, environment, beliefs, values, and sense of purpose. I began to see more clearly the intelligence within the human body — how it communicates, adapts, and responds, often long before the conscious mind becomes aware.

Listening to the Body’s Language

In today’s world, many of us are more connected to external noise than to ourselves. We scroll, push through, and override our own needs, often without realising it. Over time, we can lose the ability to truly listen to our bodies — to notice the subtle signals, sensations, and messages that are always there for a reason.

Through my father’s illness, and following his passing, my work evolved again with in‑depth training with Penny Croal, founder of the Meta‑Consciousness Academy. I felt a deep calling to help others reconnect with their bodies — to understand their symptoms not simply as problems to suppress, but as meaningful and purposeful communication from the nervous system and deeper mind.

My father, Dr David Bagley, was a doctor who dedicated his life to helping others. His wisdom and compassion continue to inspire everything I do. Carrying his legacy with me, I feel more aligned and purposeful in this work than ever before.

How Mind and Body Language Was Born

This is how Mind and Body Language was born.

Today, my practice is centred on helping people reconnect with themselves — to listen to their bodies, understand what their symptoms may be communicating, and restore balance by regulating the nervous system. From my base in Felixstowe, Suffolk, and online across the UK, I offer integrative hypnotherapy, regression work, EFT and mind–body approaches to support clients in moving:

  • from disconnection to deeper self‑understanding

  • from overwhelm and anxiety to calm and clarity

  • from feeling stuck and limited to feeling more in alignment, empowered and well

Whether you are navigating stress, trauma, physical symptoms, grief, or simply a sense of “not feeling like yourself”, my work is about helping you build a safer, kinder relationship with your body and inner world — so you can move forward with more choice, resilience and ease.
